Refund and cancellation policy · October 21, 2026

Clear choices
about your membership.

Paid memberships use Polar’s hosted checkout. This policy explains support for membership payments and how cancellation differs from a refund.

Your first payment

As described in our Terms of service, contact [email protected] within 30 days of your first membership payment to request a refund. A request is not an automatic refund guarantee. We review the payment and circumstances with the payment provider and tell you the outcome. Any stronger rights provided by applicable law remain available.

Include the email used to purchase, the payment date, receipt or transaction reference, and a short description of the problem. Do not send your password, sign-in link, full card number, or security code.

Cancel future renewals

Open Account → Manage billing in your workspace to manage an existing subscription. You can also use the subscription-management link on your receipt or contact support if the portal is unavailable. A scheduled cancellation stops future renewals; confirmed paid access continues through the paid period. Cancellation alone does not refund a completed payment.

Renewals, duplicate charges, and technical problems

The first-payment request window does not automatically extend to every renewal. Contact us about renewal charges, duplicate or incorrect charges, or a paid feature you cannot access. Include the relevant receipt so we can investigate with the payment provider. Your statutory refund and withdrawal rights are not limited by the first-payment window.

Payment-provider support

New memberships use Polar’s hosted checkout. Manage renewal and cancellation using Manage billing in your workspace. For payment or refund help, email [email protected] with your receipt identifier; never send card details.

Your receipt identifies the company that processed the payment. For any purchase processed by Paddle, you may also request payment help, cancellation, or a refund at Paddle Buyer Support. Paddle transactions are subject to its refund policy and applicable buyer terms, alongside any additional rights we provide and rights required by law. Earlier payments may use a different provider; follow the receipt or contact us.

If a refund is approved, the payment provider handles its return. Timing depends on the provider and your payment method; we cannot promise an instant credit. Refunded paid access may end, while free reading remains available.

The free trial does not charge you

The seven-day trial needs no card and does not automatically become a paid subscription. No cancellation or refund request is needed to prevent a trial charge. Any future paid purchase requires a separate checkout showing the amount, currency, taxes, billing interval, and renewal terms.

Your consumer rights

Nothing in this policy excludes mandatory consumer rights, including applicable rights for withdrawal, faulty services, or services that are not as described. The policy and rights applicable to your purchase remain relevant if this page later changes. Read our Privacy Policy for account-data requests and Contact and support for help.
